Ah, August. The height of the summer, and the graceful slide into fall. Summer might be my favorite time for playing video games. It’s the time when I really feel like I’ve got options—Fall’s frantic keeping-up-with-the-Jonesesness is as far away as it’ll ever be, and we’ve simply got time to relax and rummy mars play what we want. What have you been playing this August? I’ll go first: I’ve been playing a lot of Destiny, of course—now that I’ve gotten into PvP, I find rummy master the game never gets old, stale meta be damned. I got sick of the Prison of Elders weeks ago and haven’t cared much about doing either of the raids lately, either… but I can’t get enough Iron Banner and Trials of rummy modern Osiris. I’ve been loving Rocket League along with the rest of my Kotaku colleagues, and while I don’t know if I have the fortitude to actually get good at it, I understand that’s not really the point. I’ve also been playing through Suikoden II on my Vita, which has made Suikoden superfan Jason Schreier both happy and agitated. He’s constantly interrogating me about how far I’ve gotten, and what happened most recently, and why am I not playing right now? (The answer is usually “Because I just spent the last four hours playing Destiny with you, dude.” There are only so many hours in the day.) Other than that, samplings of N++, Victor Vran, and I’m still mopping up sidequests in Batman: Arkham Knight while meandering my way through the twilight of my second Witcher 3 playthrough. Last but not least, I still have to play episode four of Life is Strange, so I’ll do that this week. I hear that Shit Gets Real. I can’t wait. How about all of you?
